My Movie Star Friend: Wang Ji

Born in Beijing, Wang Ji is an actress of the Beijing People’s Art Theater and one of China’s most celebrated stars. She was a dancer with the People’s Liberation Army in China before she started to act in films. In 1980, she acted in her debut film—Saiwai Duobao, an action film by Hong Kong Phoenix Film Studio. In 1988 she went to the USA to study acting at UCLA. She has acted in over 100 films and TV series, including the mega-hit 20 part TV series—A Native of Beijing in New York, which earned her the Best Actress in the Lead Role at China’s national Golden Eagle TV Award. She is considered to be one of the sexiest actresses in China. She is also a famous TV personality with Beijing Television.
